Dr Evangelos A. Beletsiotis is currently Head of the Molecular Microbiology Department at QACS SA, located in Athens Greece. QACS provides QA – QC Laboratory Testing services to the Cosmetic, Pharmaceutical and Food industries. He is a biology graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a PhD diploma of the same University in Genetics and Biotechnology. After post-doctoral research, he worked as supervisor and later as a manager for 15 years in the QC and QA departments of a major dairy company in Greece and works for the last four years at QACS. He specializes in microbial identification, pathogen detection, food authentication, GMO analysis and skin microbiome analysis of both in vivo and in vitro studies. His research interests encompass the field of Molecular Biology with main focus in researching microbial populations on the human skin and foods.
